    This course will provide law enforcement professionals with the basic information necessary to identify and understand street gangs, street gang members and street gang activities. It describes gang history and migration, gang structures, and national gang trends. The curriculum includes, but is not limited to:

    Review and proper usage of Florida State Statute 874.03

    General definitions involving gangs and gang activity;

    How to properly document a gang, gang member, and gang activity,

    Brief history and development of gangs in the United States;

    This course will include a four hour Gangs 101 training block. This course will introduce you to street gangs and their history. It is designed as an Intro class and is geared toward those with little or no knowledge of street gangs.  The afternoon training block will introduce you to Social Media. The course will expose you to several of the most popular social media platforms.
